The Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine is a regulatory body responsible for protecting the public interest and confidence by ensuring that allied health professionals meet an esteemed level of competence and ethics by enforcing meticulous licensing standards which are set and governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Our Board ensures that we operate in accordance with our mandate and act.
We operate with transparency as we prioritize the safety and well-being of the public.

Set and enforce standards for licensing and certification.

Thoroughly assess applications made for licensure and accreditation ensuring the appropriate criteria are met prior to approval.

To license and regulate the practice of specified professionals allied to medicine in Jamaica, ensuring high standards of professional practice and ethics by:
In accordance with the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act (1965) and regulations thereto.
The Council has the power to:
Strike health professionals from the Register when they do not comply with renewal
Suspend a member found guilty of professional misconduct or criminal offence.
